Venture coaching Program

Venn’s Venture Coaching Program is structured to meet the needs of growth-oriented technology companies to support their export market penetration and expansion objectives. Leveraging the experience and know-how of experienced, executive-level coaches, companies can bring a depth of knowledge to the development of their business.

Through this program, Venn’s coaches will work with companies on an individual basis to assist them in areas such as:

  • Assisting early growth-stage companies through the four stages of growth, with an emphasis on international market entry and expansion;
  • Developing internal processes and capabilities required for business success;
  • Defining a business model for sustained growth and profitability;
  • Building and executing an international marketing strategy; and
  • Preparing the company for investment.

Participating companies will receive up to 10 hours of coaching over the course of the program to assist companies in reaching their corporate goals.  Participation in this program is by application and participating companies must meet requirements for NRC-IRAP support. Spots are limited and there is no guarantee of acceptance.  There is no fee to participate in this program, but companies will be required to demonstrate progress towards their goals.

Our Venture Coaches:

Paul Lypaczewski is an IT industry veteran and mentor/angel investor at large. He has run a broad range of companies over the course of his career, from web and media startups to billion-dollar NASDAQ traded companies. Having been on the executive management of major firms such as Autodesk, ATI and Avid, Paul has specialized in turning around many of the leading companies in the graphics and media industries, focusing on the organizational and cultural strategies necessary to achieve success. He has received a number of awards and recognitions for his efforts, including being the first Canadian to receive the NASA Space Act Award and also devotes his time to charitable organizations. 

Tina Barnes is a business strategist with over 20 years of leadership in Canadian and international marketing, business development, and commercialization. Having worked for leading telecommunications, technology, and media organizations including Rogers and Postmedia Network, she now consults with organizations to solve business issues, open opportunities for growth, and reach new audiences. As an entrepreneur, she has worked with large companies such as Eastlink, Xplornet, and Symantec, and with several maritime organizations and startups on strategic marketing, business development, commercialization and executing vision. Tina is looking forward to lending her experience as a business leader to coach companies from product ideation to market development and sustainability.
