the new brunswick youth forum
This past weekend, The Junction NB was the venue for the New Brunswick Youth Forum, organized by the Black Canadian Community Cultural Centre of New Brunswick (BCCCC-NB).
Held under the theme “African Youth: Acting Today to Build an Inclusive and Equitable Society for All,” the forum brought together more than 100 young people from across New Brunswick for a day of dialogue, learning, and connection.
The event welcomed Alexandre Cédric Doucet, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Moncton East, as Guest of Honour, alongside community leaders, panelists, and organizers committed to building a more inclusive and equitable future.
Congratulations to the organizers and everyone involved in making this impactful event possible. We’re proud that the Junction continues to serve as a space for meaningful community-led initiatives in Moncton.
Idea centre - Speed networking
On February 26, we were excited to welcome the IDEA Centre for their Speed Networking Event, an day designed to help students put their networking skills into action.
Throughout the semester, these students dive into hands-on projects and explore their passions. This event was all about taking that work one step further: learning how to speak about it with confidence, clarity, and purpose. From refining their elevator pitches to making meaningful connections, they showed up ready to grow, and it showed.

Startup Legal foundation series with mcinnes cooper
Building a startup means making big decisions, and the legal ones matter more than you think.
The Startup Legal Foundations Series is designed to give founders practical, real-world legal knowledge (without the overwhelm). Each session includes actionable insights and a take-home handout outlining common pitfalls and how to avoid them.
Here’s what’s next in the lineup:
Contracts, Agreements & Partnerships with Robb Baird
Learn how to structure service contracts, client agreements, and contractor terms. We’ll break down non-compete and non-solicitation clauses (and what’s enforceable in Canada), simplify shareholder agreements and equity splits, and walk through common contractual mistakes founders make, and how to fix them.
IP Primer & Avoiding Common IP Pitfalls with Patrick Kerr
Get a practical overview of patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. This session covers when (and when not) to file in order to save money strategically, the most common IP issues startups encounter, and how to avoid them.
Data, AI & Privacy Law for Startups with Olivia Feschuk
Understand your responsibilities under PIPEDA and emerging AI regulations like AIDA. Learn how to legally collect, store, and manage user data, implement proper consent management, and create compliant privacy policies, plus the most common privacy law pitfalls startups face.
Whether you’re just getting started or scaling fast, this series will help you build on a strong legal foundation.
