From Interview to offer: Tech Connect’s spring update

Tech Connect: Real Work, Real Results

When Andres Soto joined Tech Connect last fall, his job search had stalled. The credentials were there. The interviews were not. In March, he started a new role as Project Manager at BMM Testlabs in Moncton.

“When I found the Tech Connect program, it helped me refocus my strategy. It also helped me learn how to connect with local employers, and how to be able to translate my experience to the needs of local businesses.”

Andres is one of eight participants who completed the Tech Connect program in February. Across the cohort, the program generated over 30 interviews with more than 20 Greater Moncton employers.

Six months before participating in Tech Connect, the group as a whole had attended four or fewer field interviews in total.

That same cohort helped make something else happen. The Family Resource Centre’s volunteer and program management platform built during the placement period is now live. Families have faster access to programs. Volunteers spend less time on paperwork and more time with the people they are there to support.

That is Tech Connect’s model in practice: participants doing skilled work that the community actually needed done.

Tech Connect’s first group achieved a 75% successful placement rate. This group’s progress is having similar outcomes, and we expect to have more to share next month.

Our next group begins May 25 2026. We are continuing to optimize the FRC platform and will be bringing a new project on board. We are excited about the impact this new project will make for our Southeast New Brunswick residents and look forward to announcing it in our next newsletter.

Applications Open: Company Showcase at the 2026 Atlantic Venture Forum

We’re excited to be part of the 2026 Atlantic Venture Forum, taking place June 17–18 in Halifax, and to invite our network to get involved.

If you’re a high-growth Atlantic Canadian company, applications are now open for the Company Showcase — a curated opportunity to connect directly with venture capital investors, corporate partners, and leaders from across the innovation ecosystem.

Selected companies will gain:

  • Exposure to active venture capital investors

  • Visibility with corporate partners and ecosystem leaders

  • High-impact networking opportunities with founders and investors

  • The opportunity to showcase as part of Atlantic Canada’s premier venture event

Applications close on April 30, 2026.

Not quite ready to showcase — or prefer to attend this year?

The Forum has released a limited number of $499 startup-rate, sponsor-subsidized passes to help more early-stage and high-growth companies attend.

This is a great way to plug into the ecosystem, build relationships, and get a feel for the event ahead of applying in future years.

We hope to see you in Halifax this June.
