Welcoming a New Tech Connect Cohort

This spring, we were excited to welcome a new group of participants to Tech Connect Southeast NB as they begin their journey into New Brunswick's growing tech sector.

The program connects internationally trained professionals with local employers, industry knowledge, and valuable networking opportunities, helping participants build meaningful careers while strengthening our region's talent pipeline.

This cohort also marks a special milestone: one year since the launch of Tech Connect Southeast NB. Over the past year, the program has supported talented newcomers in navigating the local tech ecosystem, building professional connections, and finding opportunities to contribute their skills and experience.

We're thrilled to have this new cohort on board and look forward to supporting their success in the months ahead.

From Idea to Prototype in One Day

In June, Venn welcomed a group of founders, builders, and aspiring entrepreneurs for an intensive hands-on workshop focused on AI-assisted development and rapid prototyping.

Led by Vagmi Mudumbai and Shanthi Shanmugam of Urai AI Corp., a company participating in Venn's Garage program, attendees learned how to transform ideas into working products using modern AI-powered development tools and workflows. Throughout the day, participants explored everything from coding fundamentals and authentication to databases, deployment, payments, and security best practices.

By the end of the workshop, participants had built and deployed working prototypes, gained practical technical skills, and left with the confidence to continue developing their ideas.

A special thank you to Vagmi and Shanthi for sharing their expertise and helping others accelerate their entrepreneurial journeys. We're proud to see founders from our Garage program giving back to the community and empowering the next generation of innovators. Thank you as well to H&A Tacos for keeping everyone fueled throughout a full day of learning and building.

Atlantic Fintech Regatta kick off party

More than 200 guests from Atlantic Canada's innovation sector, including high-growth founders and ecosystem leaders, gathered alongside the global SailGP community to celebrate the intersection of sport, technology, and innovation.

Dr. Bailey, a globally recognized entrepreneur and investor, delivered an inspiring keynote on the power of innovation and its role in shaping the future. Drawing connections between the advanced technology behind SailGP and Atlantic Canada's rapidly growing innovation ecosystem, he highlighted the exceptional founders, companies, and ideas driving our region forward.

Atlantic Venture Forum

From June 17–19, members of the Venn Innovation team attended the Atlantic Venture Forum (AVF) in Halifax, one of Atlantic Canada's premier events for startups, investors, and innovation leaders.

The forum provided an opportunity to strengthen connections, explore potential partnerships, and celebrate the incredible innovation being developed across the region. From the Atlantic Kitchen Party kickoff event to conversations with founders, investors, and ecosystem partners, the week was filled with valuable insights and new opportunities for collaboration.

A special congratulations to Shanthi Shanmugam of Urai AI Corp. and Pascal Michaud of AgroGene Solutions for showcasing their companies at AVF and highlighting the innovative solutions being built right here in Atlantic Canada. Their participation is a testament to the strength and diversity of our region's entrepreneurial community.

We're proud to support founders as they grow, connect, and bring their ideas to new audiences across Atlantic Canada and beyond.

Techna summer conference

Later this month, Venn Innovation will be attending the 2026 TECNA Summer Conference, joining technology councils, innovation hubs, and ecosystem leaders from across North America.

The annual conference provides an opportunity to share best practices, explore emerging trends, and build connections with organizations that support entrepreneurs, startups, and growing tech ecosystems. This year's program will focus on strengthening operations, workforce development, and supporting startups and entrepreneurs.

We're looking forward to connecting with peers, bringing new ideas back to our community, and showcasing the innovation happening here in New Brunswick.
