Welcoming a New Tech Connect Cohort
This spring, we were excited to welcome a new group of participants to Tech Connect Southeast NB as they begin their journey into New Brunswick's growing tech sector.
The program connects internationally trained professionals with local employers, industry knowledge, and valuable networking opportunities, helping participants build meaningful careers while strengthening our region's talent pipeline.
This cohort also marks a special milestone: one year since the launch of Tech Connect Southeast NB. Over the past year, the program has supported talented newcomers in navigating the local tech ecosystem, building professional connections, and finding opportunities to contribute their skills and experience.
We're thrilled to have this new cohort on board and look forward to supporting their success in the months ahead.

Centre IDÉE Pitch Fest Showcases Student Innovation
On May 26, Venn welcomed students, educators, and community members for the Centre IDÉE Pitch Fest, a celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
After months of developing their ideas, students took the stage to pitch their projects, demonstrating impressive confidence, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Each presentation reflected the hard work and dedication that went into transforming ideas into viable solutions.
The event provided an opportunity for students to share their work, gain valuable presentation experience, and connect with members of the local business community.
Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding pitches and entrepreneurial spirit. The future is bright, and we were thrilled to be part of their journey.
Building More Accessible Communities
On May 27, Venn was pleased to host the NAAW Accessibility Expo: Empowering Communities in recognition of National Accessibility Week.
The event brought together community members, organizations, and accessibility advocates for an afternoon of learning, connection, and meaningful conversation. Attendees had the opportunity to explore local resources, engage with organizations working to advance accessibility, and discuss ways to create more inclusive communities for everyone.
Thank you to CCRW and all who participated in making this event a welcoming space for dialogue, collaboration, and positive change.
IDEA Centre Pitch Fest Inspires the Next Generation of Entrepreneurs
On May 28, Venn was proud to host the IDEA Centre Pitch Fest, bringing together students, community leaders, and entrepreneurs for an afternoon of innovation and inspiration.
The day began with a keynote from David Sanchez, founder of Decarb Technologies Inc., who shared his entrepreneurial journey. From turning an idea into a thriving circular economy business to launching a cleantech startup in New Brunswick. His message to students was simple but powerful: great ideas can change the world when paired with action and passion.
Students then took the stage to pitch the business ideas they had been developing throughout the semester, showcasing creativity, confidence, and impressive problem-solving skills.
The afternoon also featured special guest Walter Melanson of PropertyGuys.com, who spoke about the company's growth from a local startup to a nationally recognized brand, offering valuable lessons on entrepreneurship, perseverance, and scaling a business.
A huge congratulations to all the students who pitched. It was an inspiring day filled with bold ideas, meaningful connections, and a glimpse into the future of entrepreneurship in our region.
Accelerating Healthcare Innovation at the 2026 MedTech Summit
The 2026 MedTech Summit brought together healthcare leaders, researchers, innovators, and industry partners from across New Brunswick to explore how collaboration can accelerate the adoption of innovative solutions within our healthcare system.
With a focus on governance and digital health, the Summit created space for open and meaningful discussions around the challenges facing healthcare today and the opportunities that lie ahead. Participants shared insights, explored emerging technologies, and demonstrated a collective willingness to work across sectors to improve healthcare delivery and system performance. The event served as a catalyst for partnerships that are helping shape a more connected, intelligent, and sustainable healthcare system in New Brunswick.
Venn Innovation was proud to once again support the Summit as a partner, alongside Mariner, ResearchNB, and Université de Moncton.
The event also showcased the strength of innovation emerging from Venn’s startup ecosystem. Through the Venn Garage program, several companies had the opportunity to demonstrate how their technologies are addressing real-world challenges in healthcare.
NordLot and TensorVault delivered an interactive Sandbox experience that highlighted the power of artificial intelligence to synthesize high-volume, real-time input from multiple stakeholders into a clear and actionable common operating picture. Their solution demonstrated how decision-makers can better understand complex system dynamics, identify constraints, and prioritize coordinated action.
Urai AI brought the potential of AI in healthcare to life through a live demonstration with Dr. Sarah Pakzad, showcasing how artificial intelligence can support dementia detection and contribute to improved patient outcomes.
Behind the scenes, EasyVolunteer played an important role in the success of the Summit by providing the volunteer management platform used to coordinate and engage volunteers throughout the event.
Together, these companies demonstrated the growing impact of New Brunswick's innovation ecosystem and highlighted Venn Innovation’s role in connecting emerging startups with meaningful opportunities to test, showcase, and scale their solutions.
